Objectives of
the Political Section:
-
To protect and
promote South African National interests and values through
bilateral and multilateral interactions.

To conduct and
co-ordinate South Africa’s international relations and
promote foreign policy objectives.

positive image of South Africa through tourism.

To promote South
Africa as a preferred tourism destination, a country alive
with possibilities for trade and investments.

The Political
Section of the Embassy aims to intensify its political
dialogue and economic interaction with Egypt towards
strengthening and consolidating our bilateral and
multilateral relations.
-
Efforts will
include the following:
-
Alignment of
existing bilateral agreements with service delivery
objectives in order to implement viable projects beneficial
to both South Africa and Egypt;
-
Streamlining the
activities and programmes of the Joint Bilateral Commission
-
Implementation of
economic, trade and investment strategies towards greater
commercial interaction with Egypt;
-
Stimulating people
to people interaction, especially in arts, culture, sport
and tourism;
-
Maintenance of
multilateral co-operation in relation to AU and NEPAD;
-
Intensification
and co-ordination of international efforts with Egypt
towards a peaceful solution of the Israel-Palestine conflict
as well as the broader Middle East region;

Seeking alignment
with Egypt on the priority issues of stability and security
and the reconstruction and development of the African
Continent;
-
Broadening the
bilateral and multilateral dialogue between South Africa and
Egypt through intensified high level exchanges.

CONSULAR SECTION
Purpose: Responsible for the rendering of consular
services to South African citizens in distress when travelling
abroad and to render other consular services to clients from the
Arab Republic of Egypt.

ADMINISTRATION:
Purpose: The purpose of the Administration Section within
the Embassy is to support the Ambassador, all line function
officers and other levels of staff with financial and logistical
services, in order for them to carry out their responsibilities
effectively, efficiently and in the most economical way which
are consistent with the Public Finance Management Act and the
Treasury Regulations. The following services are available
within Administration: Accounts Section Procurement of
goods/services Messenger and driver/chauffeur services
Management of properties State department liaison services
General Administration. The Administration Division is also
responsible for rendering consular services to South African
citizens in distress who are travelling abroad and other
consular services to clients from the Arab Republic of Egypt.
